He is convinced that a collapse of the global ecology and the human civilisation can still be prevented. A precondition for this is that the growth of the world economy and the world population is stopped as soon as possible. 
Kamphorst started writing this small book in a period in which several global crises deepened or emerged, namely a climatic change triggered by global warming, a deterioration of the natural environment , and shortages of energy, food, water and minerals.


In the last third of 2008, a financial and economic crisis overshadowed the shortages of basic commodities. The author expects that these will return as soon as the growth of the global economy is restored, leading to worldwide tensions and international conflicts".
